Reflexology

What to expect

At your first treatment a full medical history will be requested so that your treatment can be tailored to your needs. You will also need to sign a consent form. All the information is kept confidential. Once the paperwork is out of the way you will be asked to remove your shoes and socks and invited to recline on the couch. The treatment will begin with a relaxation massage and then will move on to work on specific reflexes. During this part the reflexologist may note down any areas that feel congested, you may notice areas that feel uncomfortable, which you may wish to discuss with your therapist during your treatment. Alternatively you may just wish to completely relax and even go to sleep, either way the treatment will still be beneficial.

A course of treatments is normally recommended and will be tailored to your requirements. Following your treatment you will be offered a glass of water to help flush out any toxins, it is important you continue to drink water for the rest of the day. After your treatment you will probably feel relaxed so take care whilst driving and take it easy for the rest of the day. Make sure you drink plenty of water to flush out impurities and detoxify the body. Try to have light meals so the body can focus on healing, avoid alcohol and caffeine as these introduce toxins and stimulants and will reduce the effectiveness of the treatment.
